Host City: Kastoria

O Kastoria is located at the west end of Western Macedonia. It borders with the prefectures of Florina, Grevena, Kozani and Ioannina, as well as Albania, on the west side.

The city of Kastoria unfolds amphitheatrically at an altitude of 620 meters. It is built on a peninsula that penetrates Orestiada Lake and below the impressive mountains of Grammos and Vitsi. According to the latest census, the population of the Prefecture is 53.483 inhabitants, while the city has 20 636 inhabitants.

It is a modern city that has preserved its traditional character and pretty Byzantine architecture. Is built on the shores of Lake Orestiada, the hallmark of the city and a real gem for the whole area. Because morphology is considered the most beautiful lake of Greece and has been declared 'Monument of Natural Beauty ".

The beautiful nature of Kastoria offered both for winter and for summer tourism. Each visitor has the opportunity to observe closely the unspoiled nature and diverse ecosystem. Skiing in snowy mountains or excursions in the dense forests, while in summer, the green mountains and the blue of the lake are the perfect setting for both relaxation and exploration.

In Kastoria still preserved important monuments of Byzantine culture, such as walls, the Byzantine churches and the old mansions with Byzantine architecture. Kastoria also famous for their delicious appetizers and great food at the many restaurants in town. Also, visitors can obtain local and traditional products from various shops in the city.
